Aberdeen FC Women can today confirm the signing of defender Emma Ilijoski, who joins the club on loan from Hearts until the end of the season.

Recently turned 22, Australian Ilijoski made 55 appearances for Canberra United in the Women’s A-League before joining the Edinburgh side on a two-year deal in July 2024.

Capped by her country at youth level, the left sided wide player has featured four times for Hearts since her arrival in the summer, including against the Dons at the Balmoral Stadium earlier in the campaign.

Ilijoski goes straight into Scott Booth’s squad and is available for selection for Sunday’s SWPL match against Glasgow City.

On joining the Dons, Emma said: “I’m very excited to be here at Aberdeen.

“Everyone at the Club has been so warm and welcoming so I am very excited to get started and meet the team.

“It is definitely a new challenge, and I want to learn as much as I can from my teammates and the coaching staff as well. I am really looking forward to getting started and playing my part to help the team for the remainder of the season.”

Dons boss Scott Booth added: “Emma is a technically strong player who can play anywhere on the left-hand side and her arrival will give us further options within the squad.

“I look forward to working with her this season and believe this will be an environment in which she can continue her development.”
