Aberdeen Football Club is a high-profile institution in the North East of Scotland with an impressive heritage of domestic and international achievements since the Club was established in 1903.

AFC is an ambitious organisation looking towards further success and long-term sustainability in support of our football team by adding value across every area of our day-to-day business for the overall benefit of our staff, supporters and clients.

We are currently seeking to recruit volunteer Youth Academy Scouts across the Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire, Moray and Angus areas.

The role will involve working closely with Lead Youth Academy Scouts, developing your knowledge and experience in player identification and recruitment. You will be supported in learning and using the scouting platform The Football Squad, attending grading days, and observing school and boys’ club matches to identify players of academy standard. In addition, you will undertake other scouting-related activities to benefit both the club and your own development, and will be required to attend six-weekly scout team meetings.

Applicants should have strong communication skills and a good working knowledge of Highland League youth players, boys’ clubs, school football and youth players within the region. While previous scouting experience is not essential and full training will be provided, a solid understanding of boys’ clubs and the local youth football landscape is important. Experience of playing or working in football at any level would be advantageous. Applicants should also have completed the SFA Talent ID courses, or be willing to work towards achieving these.
