The Aberdeen FC Youth Academy Awards were held at the Beach Ballroom on Monday night, with players, staff, and parents all gathered to reflect on another successful year for our young Dons.
Every player from U9 to U17 was presented with a certificate and a medal while individual awards were also handed out for each age group.
The Development Squad were also in attendance to reflect on this seasons Aberdeenshire Cup victory, with Dylan Lobban and Findlay Marshall taking part in a Q&A.
Academy Director Stuart Glennie said:
“Thank you to everyone who joined us tonight to celebrate another fantastic season for the Aberdeen FC Youth academy.
“I’d like to congratulate the full-time development players on an excellent season. This year has marked a shift in our approach, with several players gaining valuable experience out on loan. They set the standard for the younger players coming through.
“This group won the Aberdeenshire Cup for the first time in 21 years, reached the Aberdeenshire Shield final, and made it to the Scottish Youth Cup Semi-final. On top of that, the players have collectively made more than 300 senior appearances through our loan programme.
“I would like to recognise the outstanding team of full-time and part-time staff, as well as the volunteers, who support the academy. I am extremely grateful for their hard work and continued commitment to developing the young people within our academy.
“It is important to acknowledge that many of our staff fulfil these responsibilities alongside full-time jobs yet still go above and beyond in the time and preparation they devote to training sessions and matches.
“Thank you to the parents for their ongoing support, and to our parents’ association for their continued efforts.
“Our appreciation must also go to our Academy sponsors. Their support is vital to allow us to continue to provide further opportunities. Thank you also to the Former Players Association for their support.
“Congratulations to our U13s who reached the Final of the CAS Cup yesterday and had the privilege of playing at Celtic Park. They did not get the outcome they hoped for on the day, but we are so proud of the group.
“Best of luck to our U14s who play at Dens Park on Tuesday night in their CAS cup final.
“Congratulations to every single member of the academy for representing our club with pride this season.”
