AFC Women have further strengthened their squad ahead of the new season with Phoebe Murray and Madison Finnie penning extensions to their contracts.

Two local girls, 17-year-old Pheobe has signed a one-year contract extension, with Maddie committing her future with the club until at least the summer of 2027.

Both players, who have represented Scotland at numerous youth levels, made their debuts at 15 years old with central defender Maddie featuring 77 times for the club. Midfielder Phoebe has played on 43 separate occasions for the Reds.

The side reported back for pre-season earlier this week and have commenced their intensive training programme ahead of their first friendly against St Johnstone on 12th of July.

Manager Scott Booth is delighted to see the pair to extend their stay at Cormack Park. He said: “I am really pleased that both Phoebe and Maddie have committed their respective futures to the club.

“They are both still in the early stages of their careers, but they have both shown tremendous ability and demonstrate a real potential for the future already.

“We believe this is the right environment for them to continue their development and myself and the staff are looking forward to continue our work with them.”
