“Obviously I am pleased with the nomination for Manager of the Year.
“I think it’s recognition of how the team has done this season. It’s not just my efforts that’s got me a reward, everyone is contributing. I think there has been a lot of comment this season about how much Aberdeen has progressed and I think people speaking positively again about the club it always nice to hear.
“I think to be sitting 2nd in the League with 4 games to go, to be playing a game on Saturday knowing that if we win we qualify for Europe, knowing that we’ve won the League Cup, there has been a lot of good things at the club this season.
“It’s through the efforts of the players, there’s an honestly, a commitment and personality about this squad of players that have got us to where we are this season.
“I’m a bit bemused about all the reports painting a scenario that we’ve got a massive budget compared to other clubs.
“I don’t know what other team’s budgets are.
“I think we have a slightly higher budget than one or two others but at the same token that doesn’t give you any guarantee anyway.
“There’s always one or two have got bigger budgets than us who are below us in the League. Sometimes I think that reporting can dilute the player’s efforts.
“For me, Saturday is about trying to get the team into Europe and if we can tick that box by winning I will be delighted. To do that we’re going to have to beat a team that are in good form themselves.”
We know to our own costs when they beat us a few weeks ago they are a good side. They’ve got good players and a good manager and they’re finishing the season strongly but from our point of view we feel we’ve got a lot to play for.
We’re determined to finish the campaign strongly.
We owe the supporters a team fully committed until the end of the season. Our supporters have been fantastic this season. I think they recognise what they are getting from this side every week and whether we win, lose or draw there is always a fully committed performance.
Nicky Low has broken his toe. He did it playing for the U20s on Tuesday. The injury will unfortunately rule him out for the rest of the season.
There are one or two got the effects of a bug but we’re hopeful that will pass and clear before training tomorrow.
