“It is just one of those ones I have caught really sweet. It is a while since I have done that.

“It does not happen very often. Hopefully it is not so long till I score again.

“After my goal I felt we got on the front foot and deserved the win.

“We were lethargic to start with. We let Ross County impose themselves on us. We let them take the game to us and it was a slack goal to give away.

“We do not want to be giving away goals like that. Previously we had two clean sheets and it was something we were proud of. The goal was more our own doing than them carving us open.

“But we got ourselves back into the game and started creating chances.

“We knew what we were getting with Stevie May. We knew we were signing quality. We have seen him do it before up here in this league. The manager and Tony have worked with him before so they knew exactly what we were getting. They know he is a top striker. He brings a different type of threat. He gives us more options which is great for the season ahead.

“As a player you enjoy the games coming thick and fast but sometimes you can have too many and there has been a lot of travelling. We knew it would tough and we would have to live football for those nine days. The manager has been able to rotate the side so there have only been a handful of players who have played in all the games.

“There is strength and depth there in the squad. Everyone is playing well and everyone is training well. We have been successful because the manager has picked teams for each game and he got it right again today.

“We got the results we wanted and we can now go back to a normally working week and work towards the next game.”
