"I've Always Wanted to Play Here"

Findlay Marshall | Hibernian Preview

Midfielder Findlay Marshall spoke to the press at Cormack Park to look ahead to our William Hill Premiership match with Hibernian.

Watch in full on RedTV now.

"Every game is a big game for us. Obviously, we want to win, but last Saturday was a positive performance and we're just looking to build on that now. Hopefully, we can pick up a bit of form at home and go from there.

"I've loved the step up. When you're playing, you want that pressure, and I feel like you definitely get it here. We're expected to win, and so we should be. On a personal level, it's been really good. I've started a few games and been involved in every game, so I'm just really enjoying it. Hopefully, I can keep going and keep getting more opportunities.

"I was obviously delighted. I've always wanted to play here, and I remember the first time I met him (Lutz Pfannenstiel) in the corridor. (Graeme) Shinnie actually introduced me to him, and he was like, "Yeah, I know all about him."

"He came and watched me the week later, and we had a few chats. It was really good. It was obviously nice to hear that from Aberdeen (to extend his contract), because that's what I wanted to hear. When I heard that, I just wanted to get it done and finish off the season with Arbroath and do well there.

"That would be great (to get a win and to get on the scoresheet). I feel like I've had a few chances. I probably should have scored against Motherwell, but hopefully I'll get another one soon. I feel like once I can get a goal, hopefully I can get more and more, so that would be great. I'd be delighted with that.

"I feel as a group, we're all really together with the manager and everyone in the building. I feel like it's just been fine margins at times.

"Some games, when you actually look back, if we take our chance to score first, it could be different. But after Saturday, obviously we didn't win, but we can build on that. Hopefully, this coming week we can get a positive result and go from there.

"I think the standards are actually not that different. The top teams in the Championship are really good as well, but I think it's probably more about trying to break into the team and getting consistent minutes.

"The learning has been great because I've got players like Connor Ronan and Stuart Armstrong who play my position and have obviously got a lot of experience. For me, that's been brilliant. Even little things in training, little details that they've been giving me, have been really good.

"I think it's really good (to be called up to the Scotland U21 squad). I'm obviously delighted, and I was delighted to see Alfie Stewart and Mitch (Frame) in there as well.

"I feel like I deserve that. I've worked really hard for it, so I just want to go and make sure I stay in there. Obviously, it's a camp, so we've got a couple of games and hopefully I can do well in them be involved in future camps."
