Three Dons players have this evening been called up to the finalised Republic of Ireland squad.
Jonny Hayes, Adam Rooney and Danny Rogers, who is on loan at Falkirk this season, have been selected for Ireland’s World Cup Qualifiers this week against Georgia and Moldova.
Jonny and Danny were named in the preliminary squad but have now been chosen for the final squad which meets up in Dublin on Monday. Manager Martin O’Neill has also requested a late call up for Dons striker Adam Rooney.
Jonny made his International debut earlier this year. The winger received his first call-up to the senior Republic of Ireland squad in March 2016 for Ireland's friendlies against Switzerland and Slovakia. He made his debut, coming off the bench, against Switzerland on the 25th March and also made an appearance against Slovakia four days later. Danny and Adam have yet to be capped a full international level.
Ireland are at home on Thursday to Georgia with the game being played at the Aviva Stadium, Dublin, kick off is at 19.45. Then on Sunday they travel to the Stadionul Zimbru, Chisinau to play Moldova. Kick off is 21.45 (local time)
Congratulations to all three players and we wish them all the best whilst away with the Ireland squad.
