Departure of Craig Brown

Following the decision of Craig Brown to retire at the end of the current season and take up a position on the AFC board, Dons Supporters Together would like to thank Craig and the AFC board for such a respectful and amicable decision, ensuring the best interests of the club are maintained going forward.

All at Dons Supporters Together wish to thank Craig Brown and Archie Knox for their efforts at Aberdeen FC and wish them all the best in the future. Looking forward towards the next Aberdeen FC manager, it goes without saying that this appointment is crucially important for the future ambitions of the club. Craig’s efforts at Aberdeen are to be commended, particularly given our perilous situation upon his arrival. However, the time has now come to take this club forward and realise the ambitions of the supporters, directors, players and everyone associated with Aberdeen FC. At the time of writing the club have not appointed anyone to the position, although an announcement is expected early next week. The new manager will have the full support of the DST board and we would urge all our members and supporters of Aberdeen to fully back our new manager in his efforts to take Aberdeen forward.

Dons Supporters Together Meeting with Aberdeen FC Vice Chairman George Yule

Dons Supporters Together are due to meet with Aberdeen FC Vice Chairman George Yule next week to discuss a range of issues prevalent to Aberdeen supporters. DST are keen to work with George in the future to help in any way we can to improve all aspects of the club for the benefit of every Aberdeen supporter. One of the items up for discussion will be the match day experience and atmosphere at Pittodrie. This includes the campaign to create a singing section within the Merkland Road stand. Fan representatives met with George Yule to discuss this issue earlier this month. Other issues include the club’s plans for the new manager and a variety of events and ideas DST have to boost our fundraising efforts for the Aberdeen FC Youth Academy.Notes from the meeting will be posted on our website as soon as possible.

AFC Heritage Trust Prize Draw

The AFC Heritage Trust, in collaboration with the Dolly Digital Design Studio, have devised a novel fundraising event which could see you end up owning a unique piece of Dons memorabilia. Each donation of £10 to the Heritage Trust gives you one entry into the prize draw, with the chance to win some incredible Dons related items, all the while raising funds for a worthy cause. Some items are available via private auction but most will be available as prizes. Dons Supporters Together are delighted to support the work of Dolly Digital and the AFC Heritage Trust. To help with their fundraising we have donated a framed print of “The Pittodrie Years” by Aberdeen artist Dod Dow. The print is signed by AFC legends Willie Miller and Joe Harper (see picture)

Low Prices for Hearts Game

Dons Supporters Together welcome the move from Aberdeen FC to slash ticket prices across the ground for the upcoming match with Hearts at Pittodrie on the 30th March.Fans will be able to attend the match for just £15 for adults, £5 for concessions and £1 for under 12s. With Aberdeen requiring maximum points for the best chance of a top 6 finish, we hope the club can be cheered on by a larger and vociferous home support. Hopefully this move will help achieve that and allow those fans unable to attend at regular prices the chance to get along. In a further attempt to boost the atmosphere at Pittodrie for this crucial match, there has been calls for an unofficial singing section located in the upper section of the RDS. See here for more information.
