We were delighted to welcome two talented students, Lenka Senesiova and Adithya Narayanan, to the club this summer as part of our ongoing partnership with the University of Aberdeen.
Their placements offered them hands-on experience in a dynamic environment, and their contributions were felt across departments. Here’s what they had to say about their time with us:
Adithya Narayanan – IT Assistant
Adithya joined our IT team and quickly became an integral part of daily operations. His responsibilities included creating user guides, managing support tickets, and assisting with device setup and tracking. He also played a key role on matchdays, where he thrived under pressure and tight deadlines.
“Assisting on matchdays was both interesting and challenging. There was a lot to learn and a lot to do, but it was incredibly rewarding.”
Adithya highlighted how the placement helped him improve his documentation and troubleshooting skills, while also gaining insight into the inner workings of a football club.
“It was a wonderful working environment. Everyone made me feel welcome, and my colleagues were always friendly and helpful.”
Adithya’s experience has not only enhanced his technical abilities but also helped shape his career goals.
“This internship gave me valuable UK work experience and helped me identify areas for personal growth. It’s definitely going to help me in my professional journey.”
Lenka Senesiova – Commercial Events Assistant
Lenka’s placement in the Commercial team was equally impactful. From coordinating matchday hospitality to supporting large-scale events like AFC Golf Day, Lenka embraced every challenge with enthusiasm.
“No two days were the same, and that was the exciting part! I loved the blend of office work and event days, it kept things fresh and engaging.”
Lenka developed new skills in client communication and event coordination, and found the supportive culture at the club to be a highlight of her experience.
“Everyone in the commercial office was incredibly welcoming. My supervisor Kirsty was an amazing mentor, I followed her around like a little shadow!”
Lenka’s placement solidified her ambition to work in the sports industry after graduation.
“I already had an interest in sports, but this experience confirmed that it’s the right path for me. I’ll cherish this placement forever.”
Both Lenka and Adithya brought energy, curiosity, and professionalism to their roles, and their feedback reflects the positive culture and learning environment we strive to foster at the club. We’re proud to have played a part in their development and look forward to continuing our collaboration with the University of Aberdeen to support future talent.
