“I was told afterwards that that was my 20th goal for the club.
“I am not going to lie I am delighted with my goal! There was only a small square in the goal that I could put the ball in and I managed to find it. It was a great feeling.
“I thought the boys were outstanding the whole game. I thought from the start of the game we were in their faces and we kept that going throughout the 90 minutes. The manager said before the game that it was important for us to do that today.
“The manager also made it clear how important it was for us to go into the international break on the back of a win and we did it. Credit to all the boys.
“It is a huge month coming up. We all know that. But we go into the games high in confidence and that is important. We have had a cracking month since the last international break and long may it continue.
“The pitch was very sticky but I thought the boys handled the conditions very well. The pitch was also a quite a bit smaller than it was previously. It use to feel a massive pitch so it is maybe not that small, just smaller than it was.
“I enjoyed my goal very much but as a defender the clean sheet was equally pleasing. I am pleased to have played my part over the past month and I am quite happy to play in any position to help out the team. “It was great to come away with a great result and go into the international break on a high.”
