As part of Aberdeen FC’s ongoing efforts to improve our supporters’ experience online, we are pleased to unveil our new website which can still be found at afc.co.uk!

The new version of the site is the first refresh since 2017 with a six-figure sum being invested to modernise the experience for supporters across both desktop and mobile versions of the site.

The club has once again partnered with specialist digital sports agency, Sotic, who first worked on a rebuild of the site in 2014 before the 2017 iteration which has remained in place until now.

The dynamic new site remains the place to go for the latest AFC news and content, maintaining familiarity for supporters with a similar look and feel, with a few tweaks allowing for an enhanced experience for supporters when logged-in.

Following on from the launch of the Club’s  Single-Sign-On platform over the past 18 months, the new site is now fully integrated and has been designed to enable content to be personalised when supporters are logged-in through their Dons Account.

This means that RedTV subscribers will be able to fully enjoy featured content without having to change site and that season ticket holders and AberDNA members will receive more relevant messaging from the club across the website.

From a technical perspective, the new content management system gives the media team the ability to better editorialise content with improved options on where and how content can be displayed and an improved site search facility.

There has also been a redevelopment of the current statistics system, powered by Opta, to allow for more sophisticated presentation of player and match data throughout the site.

The new design will also allow for more advertising space, which will be tastefully presented, to allow the club to capitalise on traffic visiting the site and the associated commercial appeal on offer.

The launch of the new platform is the latest step in the club’s efforts to modernise the digital experience for supporters and follows on from the launch of Single-Sign-On and the introduction of NFC Mobile Ticketing at Pittodrie.
