Winger Vicente Besuijen joined the Dons in January 2022 from Dutch side ADO Den Haag, signing a four-and-a-half-year deal at Pittodrie. The Dons faced stiff competition from other suitors in Scotland and Europe to land the Dutch Youth internationalist who has also featured for Ajax Academy and Roma in the UEFA Youth League. Vinnie made his Aberdeen debut in a 1-1 draw away to Ross County in February 2022 and scored his first Dons goal later that month against Motherwell in what was Jim Goodwin's first match in charge. The winger went onto win our 2021/22 Goal of the Season Award for his brilliant finish against Hibernian. In January 2023, Vinnie returned to The Netherlands where he joined Excelsior Rotterdam on a loan deal until the end of the season. A year later, Vinnie joined Dutch first division side FC Emmen on loan before returning to the Dons that summer. After injury curtailed his 2024/25 season with The Dons under Jimmy Thelin, Vinnie joined HJK Helsinki in July 2025, helping them to Finnish Cup success. In January 2026, Vinnie re-joined FC Emmen on loan.
