Centre forward Peter Ambrose joined Aberdeen from Hungarian side Ujpest for an undisclosed fee in the summer of 2024. Ambrose started his footballing career in his native Nigeria with the Optimum Academy in Abuja, before moving to Turkey in 2021 to sign for Balikesirspor to play in their youth side. After a season where he finished top goalscorer, he was promoted to their senior team, and made his professional debut against Samsunspor in January 2022. He played a further eleven times in his rookie season before moving to the Hungarian capital Budapest the following summer to sign for Ujpest. He finished the season as the team’s top goalscorer with 10 goals in 27 starts, prompting interest from several UK clubs but opted for the Dons. He made his Aberdeen debut in a 3-0 Premeir Sports Cup victory over Queen of the South and scored his first Dons goal against Dumbarton in the same competition. Peter returned to Hungary in February 2026 when he joined DVTK on a loan deal until the end of the season.
