Latvia captain Kristers Tobers joined Aberdeen from Swiss Super League side Grasshopper Club Zurich for an undisclosed fee in January 2025. Tobers moved to Switzerland in 2023 from Lechia Gdansk. He quickly established himself in Grasshopper’s defence and has made 44 appearances for the Club. Capped 37 times by Latvia, and the current captain of the international side, he scored his first international goal in a match against Turkey. The defender made his debut for the club in a 0-0 draw with Heart of Midlothian in January 2025 and went on to win the Scottish Cup in his first season in Scotland, featuring in extra-time of the Final.
