The youngster from Ayrshire joined the Dons on a four-year deal for an undisclosed fee from Celtic in August 2025. A youth international, who has represented Scotland at Under-17 and Under-19 level, Mitchel rose through the ranks in the Celtic Youth Academy, making his senior debut for the club in a UEFA Champions League victory over Feyenoord in 2023. He was called up to the Scotland U21 squad for the first ever time in September 2025. After helping the young Aberdeen development side to lift the Aberdeenshire Cup in October 2025, he went on to make his full Aberdeen debut, coming on as a half-time substitute in our 1-0 Scottish Cup victory over Raith Rovers at Pittodrie.
