THE SFA YOUTH CUP

The 2016/17 Scottish FA Youth Cup is under way, after the draws for the first and second rounds were conducted by Scottish FA President, Alan McRae today (Wednesday)

After a couple of disappointing seasons in the competition, the Dons enter at the First Round. They have been drawn at home to Fraserburgh. If they get through that tie they will then face further Highland League opposition as they will then have to travel to play Turriff United or Keith.

Paul Sheerin has made it clear that the high profile competition is high on his priority list this season:

“I've got a real bug bear with the Youth Cup, I'd love to get a proper run in it.

“The two seasons I have been here we have let ourselves down a little bit and not quite performed on the bigger stage at Pittodrie. I'd like a good run and to see where it could take us.
