“It was a deserved win.

“I think the pitch is difficult to play on. You can see that. But that asks questions of the squad, can they go and win a game in a different way? You saw today a real determination to get the job done.

“It is a recurring theme now, but the squad are winning games for us with the substitutes again coming off the bench and helping us. Miles Storey put in a fantastic performance and stretched their defence. Anthony O’Connor when he comes on shores things up. Peter Pawlett gave us an outlet when he come on to help us protect the lead. It is great team performances that are getting us the three points at the moment. It is as good a win as the 7-2 as it was a result we had to dig out.

“County are a good team. They got their tactics right and went to a back five. They tried to frustrate us and tried to get the crowd to turn. But I must say I thought the crowd were fantastic today. And they were patient and stayed with us.

“We had a good spell at the start but we could not get a goal. County are going to have a good spell at some point which they did but over the piece I thought we deserved the win.

“Adam deserves a lot of credit. He is a predator. When other people are looking the other way Adam is zoning in and ready for something coming off the goalkeeper, off the post etc. When you look at his career he has scored so many goals in that area because he has an instinct to go and get that goal. It is fantastic to that in our team.

“It was a solid team performance. At this stage of the season it is about winning. And there is a squad in there who know how to win. Once again they found a way to win.

“Tuesday is another challenge. Every game offers a new challenge. We know it will be difficult down there. We need to make sure the boys are rested up properly. We will be in on Sunday and Monday preparing for the game. We know it is a match where we will have to bring another dimension to our play to get the three points but we have got that momentum and we are finding that way to win. Hopefully that will be the case on Tuesday night also.”
