Toni Leigh Finnegan previewed Aberdeen Women’s trip to New Douglas Park to take on Celtic on Sunday.
“Of course, winning on Sunday at Falkirk gives you a little confidence.
“I thought we played really well and had full control of the game for the 90 minutes. After a tricky few weeks, there was no room to be off it against a team that is doing very well in their league, so I thought it was a professional performance from us.
“It was a great moment for young Erin Carrol to come on for her debut. She’s been training with us the past few weeks. It is very exciting seeing the talent coming up through the academy. She has been doing really well, and I am happy to see her make her debut, it was very deserved.
“We are back to league action now against a difficult side who we know can cause problems, not just for us but to anyone in the league. I am glad it is the last trip of the year, there seems to have been a lot of them!
“We know Celtic will hurt us if we aren’t switched on. It is important that we show up on Sunday, and if we do, we can create some problems for them like we did in the previous game.
“In these games, like the manager has said in the past, you have to be absolutely on it for the full 90, you cannot afford to switch off for even 30 seconds.
“I thought we played very well against them at the start of the season at home. We got two good goals, we were largely organised, and we executed our game plan well. It was just some soft goals that let us down on the day. But that is in the past, we will need a similar effort on Sunday.
“Every team has weaknesses that we can exploit. It is just important we show up. If we do, we can create problems.”
