“I am delighted.
“When I came in, I settled in quick enough and got up to speed quite quickly. It has been an enjoyable time so far and it has flown by. There have been a lot of good moments and here’s hoping there are more to come.
“I knew I would enjoy my football in Aberdeen. I grew up here so I knew all about the club and used to come to games. Going around the city, I speak to a lot of people who knew me when I was growing up. It is good to be here and to be playing out there at Pittodrie.
“I also knew a lot of the boys in the dressing room as well before I came here so that helped me settle in. As I say, I have already had some good moments here and I am very sure there will be many more to come.
“As well an enjoying my football, I want to win things. We've a squad that is capable of winning trophies and that's what I aim to do while I'm an Aberdeen player. The League Cup Final this season was very disappointing because I don’t think we did ourselves justice. But there is no reason why we can’t win things. The squad is very strong. Winning the Scottish Cup with Inverness gives me that hunger and that drive to go and do it again.
“There are lots of different reasons why I think the environment at Pittodrie will help me continue to improve as a player. I have played in a number of different positions here which is always going to benefit me. Also, training day in day out with the players that we have here is a real challenge because the quality is so high. They are a great bunch of lads and they have got great deal of ability as well. We help each other in training and we have the gaffer and the coaching staff to guide us. Training is enjoyable and it is very high intensity which is good for everyone’s development.
“He’s hoping me signing my deal will encourage some of the other boys who are out of contract in the summer. I don’t know what situation the other boys are in, what is going through their heads. As I keep saying we have a great dressing room and it is a squad that if we can keep it together then we can achieve a lot.”
