Aberdeen winger Scott Wright has signed a contract extension that will see him stay with the Club until the summer of 2021.

The 20 year old, who signed a two year deal in January, is pleased to have pledged the next four years to the Pittodrie cause. “The manager spoke to me a couple of weeks ago and things moved pretty quickly. I’m delighted to be staying and such a lot has happened since I signed earlier in the year. I’ve had a run in the team and I’ve managed to score some goals. There’s a lot of competition in my position which is healthy and just encourages everyone to try that bit harder.”

Manager Derek McInnes added, “I really enjoy working with Scott and I’m delighted that he has committed his long term future with us. I feel, as a player, his best years are of course ahead of him and he will be a very important player for us going forward.”

A product of the Dons Youth Academy, Scott made his first team debut in the Europa League against Daugava Riga in July 2014 and has made twenty appearances to date, scoring four times, all against Partick Thistle at Firhill. Scott, from Balmedie, has represented Scotland at U17 and U19 level and is currently part of Scott Gemmill’s U21 squad.
