Scott Booth was pleased his AFC Women side came from behind to reach the Semi-final of the Scottish Cup on Sunday afternoon, but the Dons boss was keen to enforce that his much improved side are still a work in progress.

“I’m pleased for the club that they have got themselves into a cup semi-final, but there still things we can do better.”

“We just didn’t play anywhere near what we can. And I think if we had played even a fraction of what we are capable of, then the game would have been more comfortable. St Johnstone worked really hard, stuck with it, and tried to make it difficult for us. But I just feel that, given how we’ve been working since coming in and the standards we are striving for, we were nowhere near those standards today.”

“There is a bit of disappointment because we have better standards than that, and we need to meet them. We have a really big game coming up on Friday, and we cannot afford to play like that again.”

“The first half was pretty poor. In the second half, maybe we were a bit better going forward, but I don’t think we were clinical. We did one or two things slightly better, which meant we were able to get the goals we did.”

“The positive thing is that we’re in the cup semi-final, but we all know as a group that this performance was nowhere near the standards we expect of ourselves.”

“We’ll go back onto the training pitch and work on things between now and Friday. The players know the demands we put on them and what we expect, and that’s what we’ll need for Friday. Hopefully we can get a big crowd.”

“It’ll be a great experience for these players to go and play at Hampden with an opportunity to reach the final. That’s what we’ll be working towards, and that’s why we have to demand more from each other. We want to be in the final, we want the opportunity to play in a cup final. We’ve made history to get there, but we want to go one step further.”
