AFC Women manager Scott Booth shared his thoughts at full-time after his side lost 1-0 to Partick Thistle in Glasgow on Sunday afternoon.

“The goal that we lose is, from our perspective, a terrible goal.

“It is from a throw and not picking up the players that you’re marking.

“Not picking them up, allowing the throw, the cross, and then the header from a set play where we should be organised.

“We’ve talked about it, and we’ve worked a lot on it, so that makes it even more disappointing.

“It’s been something that has happened now a number of times, losing goals from throw-ins.

“We lost one to Glasgow City last week. We lose one here today that costs us.

“Right now we’re struggling to find the net. I don’t think they particularly threatened us unless we made poor decisions in order to gave them opportunities.

“It’s a number of players, and it’s costing us. It’s costing us points right now. We have to find a way to start taking our chances.

“We had long enough in the game to be able to come back from the first goal, but sometimes when it’s in the players’ heads how poor a goal it was to lose, it took them a while to really get going.

“As the first half wore on, we looked like the team that were going to get back in the game with a goal, but we didn’t take our chances.

“I need to look back and see exactly how good those opportunities were, but they looked pretty decent to me.

“We need to find a way of hitting the net, because the games are getting tougher and tougher for us.

“Next Sunday is a big game. We can’t afford more slip ups.

“They’re all tough games, particularly if you’re going to shoot yourself in the foot.”
