“It was really open.

“I think when you look at our team – the four forward ones with Tansey and Seb in the middle – it always lends itself towards that sort of game.

“As frustrated as you are with losing the goals, and the manner you lose them, we’ll pick the bones out them another day because some of the forward play was great. McLennan, Anderson, Ethan and Seb when he went into the hole. So I’m really pleased with some of the forward play.

“We can’t ignore the goals we unfortunately concede, but it’s job done and we’re into a Semi-Final and give ourselves an opportunity with being a game away from another cup final. I’m pleased form that point of view.

“They are a good team Ross County and always play with an energy and come after you. It’s always good games against them, but you know what you get when you come here. It’s a tight pitch and that gives them that opportunity to hunt you down. I thought both teams going forward were good, exciting and used the ball well. Probably for the neutral it was an exciting game, but more exciting than it needed to be for us especially when we scored so early on in the second half.

“You take what you’re given at this stage with the Semi-Final. It’s one 90 minute game away from trying to get to another final so when that comes around we’ll take care of that, but there will be plenty football before that.

“Everybody’s in the same boat as the reserve football has been a bit stop/start and we’ve not really got any flow to our games. It must be hard for the boys as they can’t get a run of 90 minute games, but the fixtures looks better at the turn of the year once we come back after the break with more regular football.

“It obviously helps with a Semi-Final to look forward to as well.”
