After that the visitors played really well and could have gone in further ahead at the break when firstly McGinn struck the inside of the post and Robson found Rooney with a delightful ball and the Irishman’s first time shot also hit the same post.

Hibernian started the second half a bit brighter but The Dons were always in complete control and doubled their lead on 64 minutes when Rooney picked the ball up wide right, drove into the box and crossed to the edge of the area for McGinn who sent another unstoppable strike into the back of the net. After that The Dons dominated and retained possession brilliantly for large spells of the game and in the end ran out comfortable two-nil winners.
