Match summary:

The Dons recorded another important victory at Pittodrie as they came from behind to defeat Kilmarnock.

Kilie took the lead on 11 minutes when McKenzie fed Boyd who swivelled and shot inside the box and into the back of the net. Their lead lasted only 6 minutes as The Dons recovered well from the setback and Adam Rooney grabbed the equaliser. Nicky Low did well in the build-up and then the Aberdeen striker turned and shot from the edge, he hit the shot early which beat Samson. Rooney has now scored 7 goals in 9 games, quite a start to his Aberdeen career. The Dons then dominated and had numerous opportunities with McGinn going close twice. They played really neat football at times but couldn’t find the net again to leave the scores level at half time.

After the break The Dons continued to dominate and got their reward on 72 minutes when Mark Reynolds cut the ball back for Ryan Jack to slot home. They had several chances to add to their lead including a shot from McGinn which whistled past the left hand post. There was no further scoring though as The Dons comfortably saw out the game.

Attention now turns to tomorrow’s parade through the streets of Aberdeen before Tuesday’s clash with Ross County in Dingwall and then the game against Dundee United next Saturday. Another busy week for the Dons.
