I think United are a good side, we’ve played them twice this season and won both but both were very close games. “We are going to have to play well. United are on good form but we’ve won 9 and drawn 1 out the last 11 games in all competitions so we ourselves are in good form as well.

Derek McInnes | “I think anytime Aberdeen play Dundee United there is always a bit of extra spice in it.

“It’s good to see both teams have made improvements this season. I think United are a good side, we’ve played them twice this season and won both but both were very close games.

“We are going to have to play well. United are on good form but we’ve won 9 and drawn 1 out the last 11 games in all competitions so we ourselves are in good form as well.

“What has pleased me in the last couple of games, we’ve had 4 points out of 6, but we’ve come from behind to get something from the game and I think that shows the resilience of the team. There has been a lot of highs this season but even in games when we’ve gone behind we’ve always shown the importance of trying to win the game.

“I think every game brings a challenge. I thought the performance level at Ross County was decent, plenty of opportunities, worked the goalkeeper and 25 shots on target so as an away team it’s not bad going. I think our form over the last wee while against all sorts of opponents has been good and I trust the players to be ready again on Saturday.

“There’s plenty of football still to be played. We’ve got 24 points to play for and I’ve said all along we’ll finish where we deserve to finish. We feel that if we can continue the form we’ve shown up until now we’ll be there or there abouts.

“Jonny is improving but will be out for the next few weeks. Peter has done a bit of training today and we’re hopefully he can be part of the squad for the weekend. Clark Robertson played an hour in the U20 game and will stay in the squad. Andy Considine is suspended.”
