Dons pay the penalty for missed chances as they are held at home again.

Aberdeen dominated the match but couldn’t find the breakthrough as Hibernian left the Granite City with a point. The Dons had numerous chances and were awarded a penalty in the early stages but failed to take advantage. They started brightly and when Johnny Hayes was fouled in the box Craig Thompson pointed to the spot. Niall McGinn stepped up to take the kick but Ben Williams saved for the visitors. After that the Dons continued to play some good football- Pawlett headed over from close range and McGinn went close a couple of times and others had half chances too but the home side failed to make their dominance count and the points were shared.

Russell Anderson missed the game today with a hamstring strain but the injury is not too serious and hopefully the Dons captain will come back into contention for the game on Wednesday against St Johnstone.
