In issue 16 of Red Matchday Magazine there is an indepth interview with Bruce Anderson:
“The second half of the season is massive for me personally. I just want to score as many goals as I can and play as much as I can. I am desperate to play and score goals, I’m obsessed with scoring. That’s the aim for me. I’ve scored regularly for the reserves so I need to kick on and prove I can do it on a regular basis in the first team. It’s a massive six months for me. If I keep working hard then hopefully I will get more opportunities.”
“The support I get from the fans is massive. Even walking about town, you can feel the love they have for the team. On social media, even if I score a goal for the reserves, my phone blows up and I get a lot of nice messages. Before games I can hear them shouting for me to get a chance. It gives me so much confidence and I am proud they have so much faith in me. I can’t thank them enough for the support they show me and the boys.
“The only way I can repay them is by getting goals. Scoring goals is all I think about. There is no better feeling in the world for me. For me personally, nothing beats scoring a goal and then winning the game. I have always been obsessed with scoring goals ever since I have been a young boy. There is no better feeling than seeing the ball hit the back of the net. Even a few days afterwards, you are still in a happy mood.
“I love scoring goals, whether it is in the first team, the reserves or the shooting drills we do in training. I just love seeing the ball hit the back on the net. Once you score you want more. I am quite selfish in a way, but I think all good strikers need to be like that.
“I’m always thinking about how to get a shot away. No matter where I am on the pitch, I am thinking, how am I able to get a shot away which will give me an opportunity to score?” All I am focussing on is scoring goals when I am on a football field. Every goal is different.”

The Q&A is with our cover star Shay Logan:
Were you always a defender?
When I first started playing it was as a goalkeeper. Then I went outfield just to have a go and I turned out to be faster than everybody else. I had a go as a striker, then it was left wing, left-back and eventually right-back.
Who is the best player who have ever played with?
I’ve played with a lot of good players over the years but I just loved the way Stephen Ireland played the game. He might not have been the best player but everything was so nice and comfortable for him. I loved watching him play.
And against?
I’ve always said Peter Whittingham. A lot of people won’t know him but I played against Peter for City reserves when he was at Aston Villa and he was unbelievable. He always stuck in my mind after that. He went on and did really well at Cardiff for a long time.
