Paul Sheerin on RedTV

U20s coach Paul Sheerin spoke to RedTV after the defeat to St Mirren on Tuesday evening: “It was a bitterly disappointing game. “We keep speaking about mentally preparing for ourselves as footballers for games. This is their bread and butter, the U20 league. This is where they have to be ready to go and play the game to give themselves as opportunity to go beyond this level. “I don’t think we were prepared right for the game. It is something I will look at. “Ultimately we suffered for it.

U20s coach Paul Sheerin spoke to RedTV after the defeat to St Mirren on Tuesday evening:

“It was a bitterly disappointing game.

We were more like ourselves in the second half and we went after things a bit better but the damage was done.

“Really frustrating, really disappointing.

“Everything about the first 45 minutes is everything we don’t want to be. But they know that. They are aware of it. I am aware of it and we will do all we can to rectify it hopefully as soon as possible.

“They have to learn and they have to learn fast otherwise they will suffer for it.

“I said to them in the dressing room after the game that being a professional footballer is an amazing career if you can make it. Arguably it is the best thing in the world to be a full time footballer but you have to earn the right and on the evidence of the first forty-five minutes they have certainly not done that.”
