“It is tough losing any game, especially against Celtic when we put so much into it. The game prior to that against Hamilton was a tough one to take, it was never a penalty then we had opportunities in that game which did not go our way. But that is football. Hopefully against Partick things will start to go our way again.
“It has always been a difficult game against Partick. We have had some good wins but it is always a difficult place to go. Any team you play against in this league is tough, especially away from home. They have won their last two games so they are flying and will be full of confidence. We are coming off the back of two losses so we need to go there and pick up a good result. Under the floodlights, Friday night football, it is set up for a good game and is one we are looking forward to.
“Coming off two losses, we want to be going into the final with plenty of confidence and the best way to do that is by getting two wins.
“For teams like ourselves, who have been in Europe – we were back earlier than anyone – it is a chance to get a break (the International break next week). For me personally it is a good chance to get down the road and see my kids. I welcome it. Anyone needs a break no matter what your job is. You then come back feeling refreshed and re-focussed.
“A few of the boys will be away on international duty. Adam and Jonny deserve it. For me, on his day, Jonny is up there will the best players in the league.
“There has been very little talk of the cup final amongst the boys. The day after the semi-final it was spoken about a bit and we were able to reflect on it. But then we had to concentrate on Hamilton, then concentrate on Celtic and now it is Partick. You can’t think too far ahead in football. These next six points will be crucial for us.”
