Aberdeen Women wing-back Mya Christie sat down to preview the first of three back-to-back-to-back trips to Petershill Park.
“I think the break came at a good time. It was a chance to relax and take a bit of stock after a busy start to the season. It was good for some of the girls to go home as well, I think some of them needed that just to refresh. Everyone’s come back in nice and cheery, ready for the games ahead.
“I think we’ve improved, and there’s still improvement to be made. Against the tougher opposition, we’ve held our own and put up a good fight. It’s just about turning those performances into wins now.
“Personally, it’s been really good being back. I feel settled again. It’s different, but in a good way. Everything’s changed a bit, new people, new energy, but I’m happy here.
“I was buzzing to get my goal against Hamilton. I don’t score too many, but now that I’m playing further up the pitch, it was good to come on and get on the end of one at the back post. It’s important to be there when it’s coming in from the other side, and I was happy to finish it off.
“The competition in the squad is good. No one’s guaranteed a place every week, and that’s how it should be. It keeps you sharp, you’ve got to keep working hard and take your chance when it comes.
“I don’t mind Petershill, I quite like the smaller pitch because I can use my pace in behind and get turned quickly, so it doesn’t bother me at all playing there three times in a row!
“We know what to expect and we’ll be ready for it. We’ve played them twice already, once in pre-season and once in the league, and we battled hard both times. If we all play well, there’s something there for us.
