Last Outings

The Dons were victorious last time out, beating Hibs 2-0 at Pittodrie on Legends Day thanks to a Kevin Nisbet brace.

Saturday's opponents hosted Dundee at Rugby Park, drawing 2-2. The Ayrshire outfit will have been relieved to share the spoils in the end, with ex Dons stopper Kelle Roos saving a Joe Westley penalty with just 20 seconds of injury time to play.

Tale of the tape this season

In the three meetings between the sides so far this season, The Dons have emerged as winners twice.

Back in October, Stuart Armstrong's first half strike was enough to separate the sides and earn a gritty 1-0 win in Ayrshire.

The reverse meeting at Pittodrie saw Aberdeen produce a late fightback through Kenan Bilalovic (79'), and Jesper Karlsson (85') to cancel out Tyreece John-Jules early opener and ensure the three points remained in the North.

Most recently we fell to a 3-0 defeat at Rugby Park in January.

Elvis

"The boys are fighting for their lives, and it was very relieving to get the win against Hibs, hopefully that puts us in good stead for the next five games.

“We need to stay together, continue running, continue working hard, and every day try and be better. Help your teammates in tough situations and ultimately just stay together and push through."

The Head Coach

“We won't ever relax. We won't allow the players to do that. They don't want to.

"They want to build on the win. They're as disappointed as anyone with the season and how it's gone. I think it's important that we try and build on that performance and that confidence, get the crowd behind the players again, and then we can finish the season strongly.”

From the archive

Former Dons forward Josh Magennis is pictured celebrating scoring his sides fifth goal, and his first goal in the then SPL, in a 5-0 win over Kilmarnock in February 2011.

Goals from Scott Vernon, Sone Aluko, Chris Maguire. Rory McCardle and Magennis made for an excellent afternoon that saw Aberdeen score five goals in a league match for the first time since 2000.
