Aberdeen Women are back in action at the Balmoral Stadium this Sunday as they take on Partick Thistle. Kick off is 4pm.
Both sides will be looking for their first victories of the new SWPL1 season. The Dons have been beaten by Hamilton Accies and Rangers in their opening two games while Brian Graham’s Partick Thistle have lost out to Hearts and Celtic.
View of the Management
“It’s big game against a tough opponent. We’ve been disappointed not to pick anything up in our first two games and we face a Thistle team are also looking for their first points of the season.
“Anyone who has watched our games against Brian Graham’s team over the past couple of seasons will know that they are always hard fought, close contests. We’ve continued to work really hard after the disappointment of last Sunday’s loss against Rangers and despite the score line we took positives from the game.
“We want to get points on the board though and we want to get in amongst the goals as we know we can. We’ll be looking to be far more of an attacking threat than we were last week and we feel that a win is coming and that we are on the right track, despite the disappointment of losing our first two games.” – Co-manager Gavin Beith.

New signing Elena Kärkkäinen made her Dons debut against Rangers last Sunday. She spoke to RedTV after signing for Aberdeen:
“I came to Aberdeen a few years ago for university so that is what brought me to Scotland. It’s been very good here so far and I’ve really enjoyed it. It has been very welcoming and the girls are all really good. They put me on the spot in training and challenge me and I try to challenge them back too.”
“I will try my best to get on the pitch, last year was good as I got to know the girls and how they play. It was very important for me to be able to do that and I’m really looking forward to being involved in the games. I’m very excited to be here.”
