Aberdeen Women round-off a busy week of fixtures as they welcome Celtic to the Balmoral Stadium on Sunday. The game is the third match in a week for The Dons, which has seen us defeat Hamilton Accies but lose out to Hibs on Wednesday evening. Celtic travel north having narrowly lost out in the Champions League last weekend, losing to Valerenga in the final of Round One. Fran Alonso’s side returned to domestic action during the week, defeating Hearts 3-2.

Ticket information for the game can be found here. The game is also live on BBC Alba.

Manager Clinton Lancaster spoke to RedTV to preview the game. RedTV subscribers can watch in full through the video above.

“Against Hibs on Wednesday, it was a disappointing night. I thought that we started really well and in the first-half we were the much better team. We conceded a goal against the run of play, I thought that we were on top. It’s the same story for us at times, we are missing good chances that we are not putting away. If we put a couple of those away then it is a totally different game and we could go on and get the three points but it wasn’t the case. The second half was a frustrating one, the error for the second goal was a penalty and then it is always difficult to come back when you have 10 players on the pitch against a good side. We move on from that one as we have another tough one on Sunday.

“We won’t necessarily change our style because we are doing well at what we are doing, it is just down to that end product because that is what is letting us down. The players are doing well and I think it would be the wrong decision to go away from that and to change it for one game. There has to be a change in personnel and we will adapt because we have to and are forced to because of injuries and with Maddie’s suspension.

“If you are doing well then you don’t really want to change anything. There might be a bit of rotation with players but they are a good side obviously and they will be up there at the end of the season. It will be a tough one for us but we have a good group and we are at home and we will no doubt get a good crowd down there to support the girls and lets hope that can help us in someway and we can get something from the game.

“We approach it like any other game. We don’t focus on the fact that its live on TV. We are at home, it is a pitch we are familiar with. We have got to turn up there with the same attitude we have done in every game and hopefully we can get something from it, albeit it is a tough game and one we are looking forward to.”
