Dons Fans Launch New Team for Season 2013/14

The London Dons are looking to a launch a new Aberdeen Strollers FC for next season. The Strollers will replace the 2nd team who unfortunately had to withdraw from the APFSCIL league after 9 seasons at the start of last season. The Strollers will be very much part of the same club as the London Aberdeen first team and the plan is to play at the same ground, meet together for beers after games etc. Games will be mostly in South West London on Sunday afternoon’s. Although results are important and we are looking to add good players the focus will be on creating a team with at least 90% Aberdeen fans and making sure that everyone gets to enjoy their football. For those who are looking to take their game more seriously there will be a route in to the first team squad for those that impress.

We are recruiting now for both teams, we already have around 14 players who have expressed an interest in playing for the Strollers so we are hopeful that after a few summer friendlies we will be up and running for end of Aug. We are also looking to hear from anyone that would like to help with the management of the team.
