Kilmarnock Preview | Ryan Christie

“It’s a great chance to get back to winnings ways at home and back to playing in front of the home fans. Everyone in the changing room wants to put on a good performance for them and hopefully get the three points. “Obviously straight after the game there was a feeling of disappointment and to be fair I think that’s down to how much pressure the club’s under and probably how far we’ve come. If you ask anyone in the league Hearts is always a difficult fixture and to see we were going down there for three points and nothing else shows the positivity and that the targets we set are very high.

“At the same time, we took plenty of positives from the game looking back and it’s a learning curve.

“Looking back at how well we’ve done up till now we would have taken this at the start of the season.

“We will look to be getting back to winning ways.

“We’ve done well to make Pittodrie a bit of a fortress and I don’t think any team in the league would say they enjoy coming here. That puts the pressure on us and we must rise to it to make sure no team’s coming here and picking up points. I think over the course of the season no matter who we are playing in the league, if we are playing at home we think we should be winning the game. It’s a lot of pressure to put on ourselves, but I think it’s a good pressure.

“I’m really enjoying it. I’ve been lucky enough at the start of the season to play a good part in most of the games so from that side of things I’m happy. I’m enjoying my football, enjoying training every. Everything has been really good.

“We’ve made a good start to the season, but now we need to concentrate to make sure it doesn’t slip away.

“Without looking past the Kilmarnock game, it is a big week for us. We’ve got a chance to be in a semi-final before the international break and that is exciting. Its little things this early in the season that we can do that will really push us on and set us in good stead for the rest of the season.

“Joe had some amazing saves last weekend and I told him that’s been the best goalkeeping performance I’ve been a part of. Its nice to know when you need to call upon someone between the sticks they can pull out save after save. Long may that continue for big Joe.

“Looking at Saturday we need to take that mindset into the game and make sure we do our job by getting the three points.

“The way we’ve played in some games has been brilliant. We’ve really came into games and started dominating possession and controlling the tempo is something that we are only getting better at and that’s a positive. Going into games we’ve are taking a confidence from the fact we can dominate games when we are playing well.

“Game by game we want to take all three points and this Saturday is no different. We want to keep this run going as long as we can and like I said by being at home it’s a good chance to do that.

“A few of the boys have said that the depth in the squad is brilliant. You look at the bench and you could argue every one of them is a starting player so to have that is priceless throughout a long season because there will be injuries and suspensions.

“Knowing you have players that are more than capable to come in and fill the places its brilliant. If you’re in the starting 11 you want to play your best and keep that shirt knowing there’s plenty people that will easy take your place.”
