“I was a fantastic start on all fronts.
“It’s always good to score, but overall, it’s a disappointing day and it doesn’t take away from the fact we’ve dropped points and we shouldn’t be doing that.
“I thought we dominated the game for 25 minutes and looked comfortable. From there we should have been putting the game to bed. And we failed to do that.
“The first 20 minutes we looked a well drilled side, but when they changed the formation we had problems from there. Even after their goal we had enough to go and win the game, but we’ve got to get our heads focussed.
“We gave them a chance and fair play to Kilmarnock it took it. We were strong at the end of the first half, came out strong at the start of the second half and got the goal. It was then difficult from there.
“Kilmarnock deserved their point. We were not good enough after that first spell.
“It is something we have already looked at in the dressing room. The manager has said his bit. Everyone knows it was not good enough.
“As I say after that first goal we should be going on and winning these matches. We have the quality to do that.
“And we had the dominance in the early stages.
“They changed their formation but that is not an excuse. We had more than enough there to cause them more problems that what we did. We allowed them back into the game.
“In spells in the past two games we’ve very good and it’s just about continuing that on for a full 90 minutes, which we are more than capable of doing. If you look at our squad, it’s just about putting it all together and being ruthless when we get that first goal. Last week it was similar as in the first 30 minutes we very dominant, but we failed to get that goal. This week we got the goal and we should have gone on and put the game away, but we haven’t and it goes down as a disappointing day.
“They came out well in the second half and we were slow out the traps, they got that goal and made it difficult for us. We are a lot better than that and we know it, so the boys are disappointed in the changing room.
“After going 1-0 up we should be dealing with the game and putting it to bed, but I can’t put the finger on it and we seemed to go backwards after we scored the goal, but it’s gone the opposite way. It should have given us the confidence to go on and win the game.
“We’ve got a big week and it starts on Thursday. It’s a huge game for us and we need to be right at it, get our training right and be ready to go again. It’s one we are looking forward to and it can’t come quick enough.
“We will be going into that game looking for the win without a doubt. Hopefully we set up this week and look at how we are going to play and come out firing on all cylinders.
“It won’t be a good week for us if we play as badly as we did in the second half. We won’t be looking to play like that. We’ve got games in a short space of time and we are going to need everyone playing well.
“It will be tough but that is the type of game you want after the disappointment today.
“Everyone in the changing room is desperate to do well in the cup competitions. There is no better feeling for a player than winning silverware but we can’t look any further ahead than Thursday. As my time at the club goes on its something we will look to do, but we can’t look to far ahead.
“It will be a very tough game. We will have to play a lot better than we did in the second half today.”
