Kenny McLean | We are building momentum

“We are playing really well at the moment and are in a good place. Confidence is high and we are building momentum. Our forward players are probably playing as well as they can and we are defending well with two clean sheets in the last couple of games. “Everything is going well going into next week’s big game at Hampden but we can always give that wee bit more and we will keep trying to improve each other. “Ross County are always tough opponents, we started well then the sending off went in our favour.

Even at 1-0 and 2-0 we knew that they wouldn’t give up so it was up to us to manage the game. The attacking boys are playing to their best potential now and there is competition for places which I think is really bringing the best out in people.

“The manager has got some decisions to make when you have got players like Ryan Jack still to come back, even in the position we are in we will get an extra boost when Ryan comes back. He is our captain and was a big loss at the time but we have dealt with it well. Reynolds was on the bench today and he came on and did well, so the competition for places is excellent and throughout the working week it definitely brings the best out of everybody.

“There is no complacency. There has been a lot of talk about the semi-final elsewhere but we need to do our job and focus on the matches ahead of us which have done over the past few weeks. Morton will be a tough opponent and in cup football anything can happen. Morton will fancy themselves but with the way we are playing now we will be confident. It’s a semi-final at Hampden and there is plenty of motivation for us, we want that final and we will do anything that we can to get there.”
