“I think the scoreline reflected the game.
“We were maybe a bit wasteful with some of the opportunities and also got a bit complacent just before half time which allowed them to have a couple of chances but apart from that it was a good performance.
“We came out at the start of the second half determined not to concede so we were pleased with another clean sheet. It was a job well done in the end.
“It was not revenge or anything but the win they had here last time on our patch did stick in the mind.
“My goal, absolutely no deflection and the ball hit the top corner as usual! It does not matter who scores. We will take 4-0 every week.
“We have always had goals in our team but it is something we needed to improve on. For too long we had to rely on Adam to bail us out. It is great to have him in the team and great to have him scoring goals but the other forwards and midfielders over the past few years could have chipped in with more goals and we would have done even better.
“Again today we could have scored a few more but we are taking our chances and being more clinical. It was good to see big Jayden coming on again and getting a goal. We are creating a lot more chances than we have done previously.
“The gaffer has given me licence to play a bit further forward. I am enjoyed the role and had a good chat this week about it. I am linking up with James, Niall and Adam and it is working well over the past few games.
“Everyone will want to play in the semi-final next Saturday but it is like that every week. Every day is fierce. Training is a good standard. Everyone knows that you can easily train your way out of the team if you are not on your game every day. Then when you are picked on a Saturday you have to be trusted to go out and do a job.
“There are a lot of opinions in the forward areas with Wes, Peter, Miles and Jayden all available as well. They have all shown what they can do. It is great having a squad that the gaffer can rotate.
“Today Morton had a superb result against Queen of the South. We know they have some good players down there. It is one off game. There is an extra special feeling about the game and anything can happen.
“We can now turn our focus onto Morton next Saturday at Hampden. We have put the semi-final onto the back burner for the past few weeks as we concentrated on stringing some league form together. We can now concentrate fully on the semi-final and we have a full week to prepare.”
