Aberdeen Women forward Holly Daniel previewed Sunday’s trip to Ainslie Park to take on The Spartans in the SWPL1.
Kick-off is 1pm at Ainslie Park and tickets are available here.
“Sunday was a tough game. We demand better standards from ourselves, and we’re working through the week so that doesn’t happen again.
“It is frustrating. I feel like against Glasgow City, we did well defensively. Although we didn’t create many shots on goal, we did well defensively.
“We need to be calmer in possession and just trust each other on the ball. Just stay positive. If something goes wrong, just keep going. It’s a long 90 minutes.
“We’ve all gelled together well, and obviously the new faces that have come in, everyone is getting on really well. I think with time, we’ll just bond even more and become closer.
“It’s good to have played every week so far, but I need to keep that up, and keep performing, so I can keep on playing. It was important to score in the Sky Sports Cup and get going for the season.
“Now the challenge is to do it more regularly. It gives me something to build on. I want to contribute as much as I can. I am one of the more experienced players in the group, so I need to show that, and step up.
“We’ve been on it all week to put last week’s performance right, and to show that we can compete, both on Sunday and the rest of the season.
“Three points this week would be massive mentally with the free week off the following week. It would give us all such a boost. Obviously we played them just a few weeks ago, so there is lots we can take from that game into Sunday.
“We’re looking forward to it.”
