On Saturday 28th November we are calling on all Dons fans to help us celebrate all things AFC as we hold our first ever official Retro Day at Pittodrie.
To mark the occasion all adult tickets have been reduced to the symbolic price of £19.03 as we welcome Ross County to Pittodrie.
Tickets for the match can be purchased online at afc.co.uk/tickets
To celebrate our Retro Day theme we asked The Red Army to vote for their greatest ever Aberdeen team and over 1000 fans took part by naming their ultimate Dons XI and manager.
All this week we will be revealing who you selected in your dream team, starting today with 3 people who have had a huge impact on the club.
Of course, there could be little debate with the vote for greatest manager unanimously going to Sir Alex Ferguson, who was recently inducted in to the AFC Hall of Fame.
Three league titles, four Scottish Cups, a League Cup, the European Cup Winners Cup and the European Super Cup in just over eight years, Aberdeen FC was a club transformed thanks to Sir Alex, becoming a dominant force not just at home, but across the continent.
He amassed ten major honours during his time with the Dons before revolutionising English football, going on to become the most successful manager in the history of British football.
The first two players to be unveiled in the greatest team are Gothenburg great, Neil Simpson and former League Cup winning captain Russell Anderson.
Simpson amassed a total of 310 games for the club, scoring 31 goals including vital strikes against Bayern Munich and Waterschei as the Dons reached- and won- the final of the European Cup Winners Cup.
Anderson made 407 appearances for Aberdeen during two spells and led The Dons to their first piece of silverware in nearly two decades when they won the Scottish League Cup at Parkhead in front of 43,000 traveling fans. Russell retired from football at the end of season 2014-15.
