Full Time From Tynecastle | Dons go down to leaders

The Dons were defeated 2-1 by league leaders Hearts this afternoon. With Hearts 2-0 up at the break, The Dons responded well, but were unable to complete a late fight back and leave the capital empty-handed. Arnauld Djoum’s glancing header had the hosts one up and just before the break it was two when Steven Naismith went down in the box and Kevin Clancy pointed to the spot. It looked a soft decision, but the referee wasn’t interested in any protests from The Dons camp and Naismith fired home to make it 2-0.

The Dons made a good go of it in the second period and won a penalty of their own after Niall McGinn was brought down. GMS took it and gave The Dons a lifeline. With the visitors searching for the equaliser, Hearts won the game’s third penalty as Logan was penalised. This time Lewis dived the right way and saved brilliantly from Naismith.

Unfortunately Aberdeen couldn’t get the point they craved and the attention now turns to Rangers next week.
