“Sometimes it is better having these games now and ironing out any problems. Even although it was a friendly game and we give the players plenty of warning about how they are coming up against a determined team, they did not take notice of those warnings.
“I thought there was a lack of resilience and determination for the three goals we conceded. There was a determination from their boys and credit to Jordon Brown who was excellent throughput. We also did not deal with Rory McAllister in the first half.
“The only two bits of quality we showed in the first half led to our goal. Jonny Hayes runs 60 yards and wins a free kick after taking a few boys on. Robson then steps up and sticks it away. We had a few injuries so we had to reshuffle things and I feel we were a lot better in the second half. I thought we played well and showed more determination but when you give three goals away you are always going to be up against it. It is a worry for me.
“I would rather be having this conversation now though and not next Saturday after the Kilmarnock game.”
The manager confirmed both Clark Robertson and Russell Anderson were taken off as a precaution and hopefully their injuries are not too serious. Also Greg Wylde, Clavin Zola and Willo Flood all missed the game because of injury but it is hoped all will be back in time for next Saturday.
