“It was nice to get the goal.
“I have been saying for weeks now that I am due goal so thankfully it has come tonight. I just kept my head down and just hit it. I was a great feeling to get off the mark. Every player enjoys scoring goals but I realise my main job is keeping the ball out of our net.
“It has been a difficult week with the two loses, especially after going on such a good winning streak, losing two games in a row hurt us a bit. The most important thing tonight was to get back to winning ways and I was happy that I could chip in with a goal to help us do that.
“Hopefully I can chip in with a few more before the end of the season.
“In both the two defeats against Hamilton and Celtic the thing that has probably killed us is that we did not start great. So, it was nice to start well tonight and to dominate the early stages. The goal then settled us down. At half-time we then said let’s go out and kill the game. But we have not done that and they have equalised. However, we did not let that affect us and Jayden has come up with an unbelievable finish.
“As I say the most important thing was to get the win, even if it meant playing ugly. I actually thought we performed well and at times they struggled to cope. We conceded a stupid goal from a set piece, we don’t normally concede from set pieces but fair play to the big man, Jayden popped up with a great goal to put us back in front and we were happy to see the game out.
“We have a cup final to look forward to in a couple of weeks time but we have been saying that it is important that we take some confidence into that game with a couple of league wins behind us. We must win games going into the final. Thankfully we got that first one tonight.
“If we had not got a result tonight we would have lost three in a row and that would not have been a nice feeling, especially during the international break. It would have been a very long two weeks so now we can relax a little bit and enjoy a few days off.
“However, we must not rest on our laurels. There is still a lot of work to do. There are a lot of teams up there challenging in the top half of the league.
“All our thoughts now go towards Inverness and then we can focus on the final.
