Andrew Considine on RedTV

Andrew Considine After signing his new deal this morning, Andrew spoke to RedTV: “I am delighted to have signed again because I am very happy here. It wasn’t a difficult decision to make. I’ve sat down with the manager a few times and he told me where he saw me being in the next few years. Both of us were delighted to move things forward. “I have been brought up in this area, supporting this club, I am enjoying my football, it is a great place to be. It is a huge club and they look after you very, very well. The family and myself are very happy here. It was a simple choice in the end.

After signing his new deal this morning, Andrew spoke to RedTV:

“I am delighted to have signed again because I am very happy here.

“I am only 29 and still feel I have a lot of years left. I still class myself as young, so I still feel as though I have a lot more learning to do here. To be playing with the calibre of players we have, I feel can continue to make strides forward and improve and ultimately win more trophies.

“The manager has done a fanatic job here, especially keeping the majority of the squad together. He has managed to sign up a lot of our key players already and that shows intent. Graeme signing again and then Jonny signing was huge for us and hopefully there a few more to come. These boys are key to what we want to achieve. We have a bright future with them here.

“We have quite a small squad but I feel the unity amongst the boys is fantastic and I want to be part of that. A lot of the boys have now played together for a good while now and that makes a big difference. I think you have seen that over the past little while with the results we have had.

“We have real solidarity amongst the squad and I think that is showing on the pitch on a Saturday. From Joe up to Adam, the boys are performing consistently every week.

“The amount of games I have played is something I am very proud of. To be mentioned in the same breath as Eoin Jess, that’s very special. The players in that top 20 list are all legends. I am as much a fan as the supporters who turn up here every week. I am just lucky to be part of a team that I have supported all my life and a team I have been with since a very young age. It is a privilege to pull the shirt on every Saturday. Hopefully I can keep doing that for the years to come.

“I feel that by going out and giving 110% every week, the fans appreciate that. I am not a flair player like a Jonny Hayes who goes flying down the wings, but I am sure that there are parts to my game that benefit the team. If I was not benefiting the team then I probably wouldn’t be here!

“The way the team are playing at the moment we are very strong and we keep getting better and better. I can see this team going good places.”

“There is a lot to look forward to in the future but there is also a look to forward to this season too, lots to play for. Having got to one cup final already, we feel that the Scottish Cup is something we can really challenge for this year too.

“We are coming into a very important part of the season. There aren’t many games to go, so we cannot afford many slip ups if we want to cement second place. It is pretty tight between three or four clubs but we have the experience and confidence in the squad to deal with the challenges we face over the next couple of months.”
