AFCCT Day Match Report: Dons grab a late winner against Motherwell!

To celebrate the very first AFC Community Trust Day, Brandon Alexander from Northfield Academy has written a match report for today's Dons clash with Motherwell.

Aberdeen were looking for their 6th straight home win and their 4th win in arrow against Motherwell this afternoon.

Both teams started with a 532 wing backs formation with Motherwell at every chance they could wasting time.

Aberdeen played well throughout the game but just couldn’t get past the Motherwell defence as they were sitting very deep, putting nearly every man behind the ball and just lofting the ball forward to Ryan Bowman at every opportunity.

Aberdeen played good football and had lots of shots just wide or over the bar but the game was constantly slowed down by Motherwell in a bid to frustrate Aberdeen.

However Aberdeen didn’t resort to long balls into the box but instead stuck to their guns and kept playing good football.

Finally in stoppage time Jonny Hayes got to the by-line and cut the ball back to Niall McGinn who slotted the ball into the bottom right corner from about eight yards out to send the Aberdeen fans home cheering and the Motherwell fans kicking themselves. COYR!
