Stephen Robinson: There were some very good performances

SR DAFC

Stephen Robinson emphasised there was plenty positives to take from Saturday's friendly outing at East End Park.

"Yeah, it was important we had a really competitive game, Neil Lennon put his first-team boys out as well, which made it really, really competitive. "We managed to get people good game time, some of the injured boys minutes on the pitch, which was what it’s about today, some good performances and some of the things we’re trying to work on. "Of course, it always can be better. There was some very, very good performances within that, and it sets us up nicely leading into St Johnstone, so we know we haven’t been too long without a game because sometimes momentum’s everything, and that’s why we want to keep playing games.

"Yeah, it was good (getting Brad Lyons back). He’s been training. He only trained a couple of days this week, so still early. Got 15 minutes. Emma got 20-25 minutes, which was good. So, it gives us a real options.

"It was a chance for people to see Hicham for the first time as well. Ayoub is starting to get better and understand what we want from them as well, which is positive.

"So, a lot of positives to take out of today and take into the week.

"We had him play wing-back (Hicham), just to make sure everybody had game time. And he’s played there with his previous club as well. You want to look at these things, have these options when the games aren’t that important, which it wasn’t today.

"I’m pleased with him. Still needs the fitness levels, the physicality of the Scottish game, he needs to get used to as well. So we know what he can do and he showed up today."
