Aberdeen FC Women have strengthened the squad with the experienced and talented additions of Katie O’Hanlon, Soraya Walsh and Piper Lea, subject to international clearance.

O’Hanlon arrives in the North-east on a season long loan from Barclays WSL side West Ham, with Soraya and Lea joining on one-year contracts following their departures from West Ham and Aston Villa respectively.

O’Hanlon signed professional terms with West Ham in July 2025, before also going out on loan to both Hashtag United and Billericay Town.

Although yet to make her senior debut at West Ham, the 22-year-old spent season 2025/26 as part of the senior goalkeeping set up.

Her former teammate Walsh, a forward, also heads for Aberdeen. She signed her first professional contract with the London club in July 2024, going on to make one senior appearance for the Hammers.

Walsh spent the first half of season 2025/26 on loan at Watford FC, before making the switch to join Hashtag United in the FAWNL Southern Premier division for the remainder of the campaign.

Joining them is Piper Lea. A central midfielder, the 2006 born was part of the Aston Villa U21 setup last season, alongside her regular training commitments with the first team.

Highly regarded for her technical quality, the 20-year-year old joins The Dons in search of her breakthrough into senior football, after also spending time developing in the London City Lionesses Academy.

“They all have recent experience in WSL1 environments which will add a different type of experience to the group, whilst having the quality which will add significant value to the team.

“Most importantly, all three are exactly the right type of people we want in the group.

“In Katie, we have a goalkeeper who brings leadership from the back, alongside strong goalkeeping abilities, she also is excellent with her feet.

“Soraya is an exciting attacking player who can use her technical ability to create problems for opponents. We hope to get her into good attacking situations where she can show her quality.

“Lastly, Piper brings a composure & a confidence to our midfield. She is a player who likes to get on the ball and make things happen.

“We believe that all three have the required attributes to make their time at Aberdeen successful.”
