The Aberdeen FC Girls’ Academy Awards were held at Pittodrie on Tuesday night, with players, staff, and parents all gathered to reflect on a successful 2026/27 season.
Every player from our U13s, U15s, and U17 teams were presented with a certificate and a medal, while individual awards were also handed out for each age group.
Young first team goalkeeper Amber Signorini was also in attendance to take part in a Q&A to reflect on her transition to senior football.
Girls Programme manager Jo Belot said:
“Our academy will be judged by how many players break into the first team, and we were all delighted to see Erin Carrol and Mia Selbie make their SWPL 1 debuts earlier this season, a very proud moment for everyone who has worked with the players, their family, and everyone who has supported their journey.
“I would also like to place on record my appreciation for the trust and opportunity Scott Booth has given our academy players this season.
“We have had 15 players from our U17s squad train with the women’s first team for more than 1,000 hours collectively, which has exposed them to the highest level of football in the country. We wish the first team squad all the very best for Friday night’s game.
“I would also like to recognise our fantastic team of part-time coaches and who put in so much work to support the academy journey, as well as our volunteer scouts. It is important to acknowledge the work they do alongside their full-time jobs, and the many hours they spend away from their own families in the evenings and at weekends.
“Thank you for your planning, for always going above and beyond, and for the way you support each player on her own unique journey.
“We know that behind every player here tonight is a family who makes all of this possible. We truly appreciate the demands and sacrifices that this requires and the impact of this on your wider family. Your commitment is what allows these girls to dream big and enjoy the game they love.
"Our thanks must also go to our sponsors for their continued support, it is greatly appreciated.
“As we look ahead coming into our third season as an Academy, we do so with determination and excitement. We want to continue improving and continue giving girls in the North-East the opportunity to fulfil their potential within football”
